MattressLabReview is an independent editorial site covering mattresses and sleep. We publish buying guides, comparisons, and reviews to help readers choose the right bed for their body and sleep position — memory foam, hybrids, and innersprings — without paying for the biggest markup or the loudest marketing claim.
What we do
Our goal is simple: cut through mattress marketing and give readers clear, useful, honest guidance. Every guide is produced by the MattressLabReview editorial team. We research products by synthesizing manufacturer specifications, published third-party and lab test data, foam and materials certifications (such as CertiPUR-US), sleep-science research, and aggregated owner feedback. Where we have not independently tested a mattress in-house, we say so — we are a research-anchored editorial team, not a hands-on testing lab, and we never claim testing we did not do.
How we evaluate mattresses
A mattress is only the right mattress for a specific sleeper, so that is where our evaluations focus. For every bed we ask: what firmness does it actually deliver on the industry 1–10 scale (and for which body weights), how does it support each sleep position, what materials and certifications back the comfort and durability claims, what the real queen price is after standard discounts, and how the trial, warranty, and return terms compare. We match each bed to the sleeper it fits and cite manufacturer specs, published tests, and sleep research so readers can check the reasoning themselves.
Why we don’t post numeric scores
We deliberately do not assign a single decimal score or star rating to a mattress. A number like “8.7/10” implies a level of instrumented, repeatable lab testing we do not perform. The 1–10 figures you see in our guides are firmness ratings drawn from manufacturer specs and the standard mattress firmness scale — never overall quality scores. Instead of a score, we use plain “best for” labels and explain the reasoning so you can disagree where your needs differ from ours.
